Mr. Bunusu Mtupa is an associate in the firm. He represents clients in dispute resolution and provides legal advice on a wide array of issues, including contracts, the law of banking and negotiable instruments, labour law, personal injuries, taxation, public international law and land law. His impeccable legal research skills distinguish him.
Bunusu has served as a research assistant at the High Court and Supreme Court of Malawi. He also worked as a legal assistant at Mutembuli & Co. Advocates in Uganda. In addition, he served as a legal advisor for the Umunthu Foundation. He has also been involved in conducting research in a variety of pertinent issues in society as a Consultant including on mob justice and women’s access to justice in Malawi.
In addition, he has taught the law of banking and negotiable instruments and public international law at undergraduate level.
Bunusu served as a class president at the Malawi Institute of Legal Education and as Chairperson of the Professional Legal Ethics Committee of the Law Student’s Society at the Islamic University in Uganda, School of Law. He has a high regard for good governance, human rights and the rule of law.
Bunusu has attended various trainings, including a trial advocacy training by Justice Advocacy Africa and a Training Workshop on Laws Protecting Vulnerable Groups in Malawi.
Bunusu holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (Hons) from Islamic University in Uganda and a bar qualification from the Malawi Institute of Legal Education, which qualifies him to practice as a legal practitioner in Malawi.
